Food Artisans & Producers
MEMBERSHIP CRITERIA: Annual Membership: $200
Your product(s) must contain at least 30% locally grown/produced ingredients from a local farm during the region’s growing season (May-October). Your business must be independently owned. If your products contain meat or dairy, they must be from farms that practice humane animal husbandry.
What do we mean by local? Grown / produced by an independently owned farm within (approximately) 150-miles of your place of business.
What do we mean by humanely raised? The primary features of humanely raised animal production include adequate space to roam, access to the outdoors, engagement in their natural behaviors, and a diet including adequate food and water with no added antibiotics or hormones.
Exceptions to the rule: For products where local ingredients are not available, Food Artisans may also use organic and/or certified Fair Trade ingredients to meet the criteria.
