Help Make Local Food Accessible to Everyone

Dear Local Food Supporter, Fair Food's Double Dollars program helps individuals and families relying on the nationwide Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) program by offering a dollar-for-dollar match (up to $10 each week) on all SNAP-eligible products at our Fair Food Farmstand in Reading Terminal Market. This includes all fruits and vegetables, dairy, cheeses, eggs, meats and value-added foods from our wide selection of local farms and producers.

Double Dollar FrontIn the four years since we launched Double Dollars, it has reached more than 1250 individuals and families. Last year, Double Dollars brought $12,000 in additional fresh, local food to participants. The growth of the program has been steady and successful, but we know there is the potential to reach many more households. Contributions from supporters like you allow us to increase the impact of Double Dollars in our community.

In this season filled with holiday celebrations and group gatherings, food plays an essential role by connecting us to our cultures and family traditions. For about 31% of Philadelphia residents, this means stretching the already limited funds provided through SNAP.

"The Double Dollars program is an excellent idea. Please continue it. It makes a great positive impact on my food budget - especially with high quality food purchase. Thank you!" Double Dollars Customer
