As we navigate the holiday season, it's easy to find ourselves eating more, er… richly than usual—a cheese plate here, a cookie swap (or 2) there…. At home, it's important to get a dose greens while we still have autumn’s tastiest local veggies available. Grab a stalk of Oak Grove Plantation's BRUSSELS SPROUTS for an olive oil tossed, crisp-roasted treat or a fresh, shredded slaw. Snipes Farm brings us sweet, crisp FENNEL, another salad favorite, and this will be the last weekend for Blue Moon's flawless, certified organic BABY ARUGULA, SPRING MIX, and BABY SPINACH (but they'll bring us MICROGREENS through the winter). And Green Meadow Farm brings us large KOHLRABI heads, great for steaming (like a turnip) or grating into slaw (a la cabbage). As for fruit, Paradise Hill's RED CRANBERRIES should be your winter go-to for baking & preserving, while Beechwood Orchard's PINK LADY and GOLD RUSH apples are in but won't be around long—get them while they last!
