Today is the official start of summer and boy is it bringing the heat! Stop by the ‘Stand and we’ll help you plan a cooling meal using fresh, seasonal fruits and vegetables.

We’ll have a variety of fruit this week: BLUEBERRIES are in abundance from Stoney Creek Farm and Paradise Hill Farm (Great for a quick breakfast or a refreshing snack). We’ll also have TART CHERRIES from Three Spring Fruit Farm. BLACK and RED RASPBERRIES are here too, from King Family Farm and Brookeberry Farm respectively.

If you’re in the mood for something savory: SPRING MIX and beautiful HEAD LETTUCES from Paradise Organics make the perfect base for your salads. Try adding a soft-boiled PULLET EGG from Meadow Run, FAVA BEANS and RADICCHIO from LFFC for a satisfying but light dinner. Or you can shave FENNEL BULBS (LFFC) and PURPLE KOHLRABI (Zone 7) for crisp slaw.

Griggstown Quail Farm brings FRESH YOUNG CHICKENS again this week, as well as MUSCOVY DUCK BREASTS, and QUAIL. If you feel like cooking out this weekend, these birds are the best.
